Born in Pinetown, North Carolina, Doris Grace Wallace Eakes now makes her home in Kure Beach, along the state's scenic coast.  She and her late husband, Joe D. Eakes, developed and operated retirement homes in North Carolina and Virginia.  They have one daughter, Carmen.  Doris and Joe were blessed to be part of the Central India Christian Mission (CICM) since its inception in 1982.  In 2000, as a birthday gift to herself and to her late husband, Doris formed a charitable remainder trust (CRT) to provide endowed scholarships for children and adults in four colleges in North Carolina and Tennessee, with a portion going to the children of India and the other missions of CICM.  She has formed Trinity Children, Inc. (TCI) and is the organization's first president.  TCI will provide help for needy children in India, Africa, and the United States.  For more information, please visit the link below:
